♦ — • The trough of the disturbance which ha# affected the weather lately passed over the Dominion early this morning, pressure now being lowest off the East Coast, and strong northerly winds have since backed again to southerlies. Unsettled, cloudy, and misty weather ha» been experienced, and rain has been falling generally. In various parts of the country 1 the rain has been heavy. The amount for the twenty-four hours up to 9 a.m. to-day was 20 points, and most of this fell after 7 o'clock this morning. Gales were reported this morning at places in both Islands. The official forecast is for south-westerly winds, strong to gale at times, and cold, sqnally weather with heavy showers, especially in the northern and east coast districts.
