(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) GISBOBNE, This Day. The Poverty Bay Turf Club Meeting opened in fine weather. There is a large attendance. The course is in good order. Results:— Welter Handicap, of 150 soys; one mile.—Startle, 9.5, 1; Tari, 9.6, 2; Garzon, 8.2, 3. Scratched: The Author^ Polar, Markover, and Scottish King. Won by a length and a half. Time, lmin 43 l-ssec.
