■In a statement presented at the last meeting of the Wairarapa Power Board the secretary showed the cash sales, and those for credit at the various showrooms for the past nine months. In: each instance the credit sales exceeded the cash receipts, the figures being: April, cash sales £63 4s sd; credit sales £403 15s 6d. May (£6O), £208 11s. June (£55 17s 6d), £253 8s 9d. July (£36 11s 2d), £308 17s 3d. August (£CS 15s 4d), £112 Is. 7d. September (£45 12s 2d), £186 17s sd. October (£46 19s 6d), £213 0s 9d. November (£64 18s 8d), £225 6s_3d. Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Thompson, of Greytown, who have been visiting Auckland, returned home on .Tuesday afternoon. ■ .

MASTERTON, This Day. At a public meeting held in Mastertou last night, attended by about (50 residents of Mastertou and district; it was decided to form a branch of the W.E.A. It was arranged for two. series of weekly public lectures, and for tut^ ial classes, to be run concurrently. Tlus year 18 lectures on world history will be given, also courses in pschology and the science of human nature. The'following committee was elected: The Mayor (Mr. T. Jordon), president; Mesdames T. R. Barrer and W. Bullock, the Beys. WV Bullock, and J. Davie, Drs. G. H. Uttley, G. H. Scholefield, and Messrs. H. C. Robinson, G. Sett>y, E. C. Drummond, and C. A. Henary. Mr.. S. E. Eurrell was appointed secretary. The lectures are to commence during the first week of March.

The annual report of the Masterton TJ.I'.S. Dispensary shows that there has again been a loss on the year's working. The following prescriptions were dispensed: At dispensary 3289, urgent dispensary 201, total 3490. For 1924, 6500. Decrease for year 3010. Private prescriptions: 1925, 1691; 1924, 1601; increase of 90.' The average number of members was 750, an increase of 12, and the average prescription per member was four as against 8.6 the previous year. The loss for the. year amounted to &75 9s Bd. It is recommended that-an increase of 2s 6d per quarter on -members' levies^ be made.
