LONDON WOOL SALES.

Tho following cablegrams bare been received from London, dated 9th February, relative to the London wool Bales:—

Bank of New Zealand: "The Bales have closed firm for all kinds of wool. Current quotations: Crossbreds, fine, 16d to 17d per lb; crossbreds, medium, 14d to 15d per lb; crossbreds, coarso, 13d to 14d per lb; halfbreds, 17d to 20d per lb; merinos, super, 23d to 25d per lb; merinos, ordinary, $0d to 21d per lb; merinos, inferior, 17d to 19d per lb." Levin and Co.: "The auctions dosed here today with a good tone. As compared with the opening rates of this series, we quote: Greasy merino, best, %d to Id per lb dearer; greasy merino, average, %d per lb cheaper; halfbreds and crossbreds, no change; scoured*, generally 5 per cent, cheaper; slipe, halfbred lambs, Id per lb cheaper; sllpe. three-quarterbred lambs, %d per lb cheaper; coarse sltpes, %d per lb cheaper."

Murray, Robert*, and Co., Ltd.: "Sales have closed with a firm tone; good general competition; 75 per cent, of offering sold; Bradford buyers principal operators. Compared with present London sales opening rates—Greasy merino par to 5 per cent, advance. Wool suitable for the Continent shows the greatest advance. Scoured merino, best, par to 5 per cent, advance; Inferior, market Irregular and shows no material change. Crossbred greasy market very firm. Crossbred scoured, market shows no material change. Continental buyers are Operating more freely. As compared with closing rates of last series, greasy merinos, cood to super. Wright, Stephenson, and Co., ltd., and Abraham and ■Williams, Ltd., report:— "Wool sales closed market firm, competition animated. Continental and Bradford buyers chief operators. Total offered for series 156,000 bales, of which 130,000 bales have been sold. Ordinary New Zealand top-making prices:— Greasy fine halfbred,, 56 to 58's, IB'Ad; halfbred, 50 to's6's, 17 W; three-quarterrbred, 48 to 50' a, ICid; fine crossbred, 4C to 48*8, 15jd; medium crossbred, 44 to 46's, 14% d; crossbred, 40 to 44's, 14d; crossbred lambs, 46 to 50's, 15d; scoured prices par; slipes par to 5 per cent, lower; Australian merino par to 5 per cent, higher."

New Zealand Loan and Mercantle Agency Co., Ltd.—"The sales closed llrmly to-day. As compared with last sale's closing rates, prices are lower about 5 per cent, for crossbred lambs and coarse and medium crossbred slipe. Prices are lower, about 7% to 10 per cent, for greasy merino inferior and fine crossbred sllpe. Prices aro lower about 10 per cent, for scoured merino super, lambs merino, and scoured, merino medium. Prices are about the same for greasy, crossbred. Prices are lower, about par to 5 per cent, for greasy merino, super. Prices are lower about 5 per cent, to 7Mi per cent, for greasy merino medium and scoured crossbred, and lower about 10 per cent to 15 per cent, for scoured merino Inferior. Home buyers are the principal operators.
