ILLEGAL SEIZURE
TWO BRITISH SCHOONERS
AMERICA TO ASSESS DAMAGES.

NEW YORK, Bth February. , A telegram from Boston states that for the first time since the liquor seizure treaty with Britain became effective, the provision calling for the creation of a commission to assess the damages against the United Staies for vessels illegally seized off the United States shores will be brought into play. It is understood the Supreme Court has sustained the verdict of the District Court ordering the release of two Brit- N ish schooners which were seized, a year ago, each carrying 50,000 gallons of liquor. It is understood the owners will claim a quarter of a million dollars damages from the Government.
