The Department of Agriculture lias reeled ed the following cablegram, dated tlie 20th instant, from the High Commissioner foi New Zealand, London: "Wool sales opened yesterday with larger attendance. UlddluE hesitated for merino, but good for crossbred. Compared with closing rates tor last series gtlod inerliio 5 per cent, and Inferior 1% per ceilt; lower; crossbred, firm and tiitchiuiued; 189,000 bales available In series, of which 121,450 Australian, ana 53,200 Mew Zealand.''
