COLEMAN PLACED IN ALL PRINCIPAL EVENTS.
(IT TILIQRAFB.— FRI9I AISOCIATIOH,) PALMERSTON N., 22nd Jan. The Manawatu\Motor-cycle Club's races were held on the Ashhurst racecourse to-day. Fortunately the rain ceased early, and a record crowd watched exciting events and several motor spills. The principal results are as follow:—
North Island Middleweight Championship, of eight miles. —H. Moller, 3i Norton, 1; P. Coleman, 6J P. and M., 2; L..Maugham, 31 Harley, 3. Won by 100 yards, slowing up. Time, 7min 33 34-ssec.
President's Handicap, of twelve miles.—H. Moller (50sec), lj P. Coleman (set), 2; D. Managh (25sec), 3. Twenty-three started. Time, lOmin 34 2-ssec.
Ashhurst Handicap, of eight miles.—L. Brausch (70sec), 1; E. Lowe (60sec), 2; D. Managh (scr), 3. Time, 7min 25 l-ssec.
Classic Handicap, of eight miles.— D. Managh (20sec), 1; P. H. Donovan (55sec), 2; P. Coleman (scr), 3. Time, Bmin 2 3-ssec.
Anniversary Handicap, of ten miles. —H. Moller (40sec), 1; R. Jones (75 sec), 2; P. Coleman (scr), 3. A protest was lodged on behalf of Jones, who obviously won.
