In his second game, against Allan, of Kaituna, Doherty suffered his second loss of the tournament, going down 26 to 17. They were 9 all on the 9th head, but a 4 and a 3 to Allan gave them a lead which Doherty could not pull down. M'Arthur (Petone) had two losses, being beaten by Kirk (Maitai), 26 to 21, Ad Fastier (St Clair), 27 to 26. So far M'Arthur has not had a win. His club-mate, Beynon, has had only two wins. He beat the British team, captained by Wakeby, 31 to 16, and then surprised his section by downing Gibsou (Taieri) by 29 to 18. This was Gibson's first defeat. The Victoria men played great bowls, and thoroughly deserved their win. Kennington (Lower Hutt) had n« success to-day, and his line., of losses remains unbroken. Against M'Leod (Taieri), O'Donnell's men had the unenviable experience of having an 8 scored against them on the 2nd head, followed by a single, making the score 9 to 1 on the 3rd head.
