EMPRESS THEATRE.

"The Speed Spook," a rattling comedy with Johnny Hmea in the leading role, is screening to-day at the Empress Theatre. He mixes up love, politics, and thrills in such a way that the interest of the onlooker is never allowed to stray from the picture for one moment, the automobile race is particularly thrilling, and the titling of the picture ib very clever. "Love !of Women," the second feature, deals with the domestic troubles of Cynthia and Ernest Herrick. A comedy, "Bottle Babies," a scenic in prizma colours ("China"), and the latest Fathe Gazette are on the programme. That the Fuller Hayward directors are determined to give the public the best entertainment possible is evident by reason of the fact that they have negotiated successfully for the Paramount and Master Picture outputs for 1926. The productions of either of these exchanges are particularly strong and when the two are to be Been on the one pi ogramme the entertainment result should be extremely hard to beat. The first of these programmes will commence at the Empress on New Year's Day, when "Paths to Paradise" and "This Woman" will be shown.. The cast of "Paths to Paradise" includes Raymond Griffith, Betty Compson, and Tom Santschi. It is a comedy-draina and is said to surpass anything tliis comedian has hitherto given the picture patron. "This Woman" lu-.s been given a remarkable cast, which includes Irene Rich,' Ricardo Cortez, Clara Bow, Louise Fazenda, Creighton Hale, and Mnrc M'Dennott. The 8to:y was adapted from the well-known novel, by Howard Hockley, and the theme is said to be most unusual and entertaining. The supporting pictures include an "Our Gang" comedy, entitled "Back Sta#te" and the latest Pafhe Gazette. The Empress Orchestra will be heard under Mr. M. T.
