Haldanc, a nephew of Lord Hald*ane,, from tho readership in bio-chemistry, because he was the co-respondent in a recent divorce suit. The University authorities asked Mr. Haldane to resign, but he refused, insisting that he Was not guilty of immorality. It is understood that a large section of University opinion considers it an inquisitorial persecution of ft young and. brilliant scientist that will only cast ridicule on the University.
