NELSON, 29th December. A victory by 82 runs on the first innings was secured over Motueka by the Wellington touring team. The home side made 40 in the first innings, Hutchings taking six wickets for 20 runs and Mason four for 25. Wellington replied with 131 (Baker 23, Hutchings not out 25). In the second innings Motueka lost eight wickets for 154 (Drogemuller 25, Smith 39), Mason taking four for 48 and Hutchings three for 24.
