A lorry with sixteen passengers, returning to New Plj'mouth, narrowly escaped being smashed by a race special lust night. The driver turned over a crossing, and the lorry escaped by inches. Theo Skoglund, a. farmer, seeing the danger, made a flying leap and landed on his head. He was removed to the hospital in a critical condition, with a fractured skull.
