WHAT THE LAW PROVIDES

The General Election will take place next Wednesday, and there are certain provisions 'of the Legislature Act which must.bo borne in mind as affecting Election Day. Section 123 of tho Act provides that licensed hotels must be closed after 12 noon. Employers in businesses governed by tho Shops and Offices Act may.-give the weekly half-holiday on polling day in lieu of the appointed ;iay, but tho closing hour for the weekly half-holday fixed by icqwisi--lion-or award-must be observed.
