ANOTHER CHANGE
Tho cold and changeable weather which reappeared yesterday is not likely to last much longer, the Director of the Meteorological Oilice (Mr. D. C. Bates) reporting that an improvement should take place. Wellington's share of rain for tho twenty-four hours preceding 9 a.m. to-day was only 5 points, making the total for tho mouth to date 5.65 inches, which is over an inch and a half above tho average. Atmospheric pressure has increased everywhere, though it has been relatively low to the eastward, aud strong southerly winds have prevailed. The barometer still has o rising tendency in the North, but Jiltlc further movement is expected in the South. Cold and changeable conditions are forecasted, with passing showers probable in the east coast districts, and a very cold night generally. South-easterly winds, moderate to strong and squally at times, are to be expected. Gules reported this morning are likely to decrease.
