44 HOURS WEEK
N.S.W, GOVERNMENT WILL NOT " BE BLUFFED.
SYDNEY, 16th September. In the Legislative Assembly, speaking on the second" reading of the Forty-four Hours Bill, Mr. Baddeley, Minister of Labour,, said the Government was not out to destro industry and would not tolerate any bluff. If there were any bluff on the part of those behind the Opposition, the, Government would 'call the bluff. He added that the Government was out to do the right thing, and if as a result of the bluff industries were closed because of the forty .four hours' week, the Government would seriously consider taking over those industries and working them in the interests of the people of the State.
