TANKS PROVE EFFECTIVE

Although the sirocco impeded the aeroplanes, the French tanks were most effective during to-day's operations, and, despite fierce resistance, the French gained fresh objectives, notably Jebelamseft, driving the tribesmen, supported by Eiffi contingents, in disorder northwards.
