J. Knight 55, P. G. H. Fender not out 81), W. Ehodes taking four wickets for 65 runs. Yorkshire lost no wickets in the first innings for 80 (H. Sutcliffo not out 53). The match was drawn. Essex, playing against Hampshire at Portsmouth, in the first innings made 145, A. Kennedy taking five wickets for 61 runs. Hampshire lost nine wickets for 102. The match was drawn. Playing for Warwickshire against Middlesex at Birmingham, J. H. Parsons made 106 and F. R. Santall 110. The •match was drawn. Playing for Northamptonshire against Sussex, at Northampton, C. N. Woolley made 121 and V. W. C. Jupp took five wickets for 58 runs. . For Sussex E. H. Bowley made 104, and Holdsworth 110 not out, while A. F. Wensley took lour wickets for 18 runs and M. W. Tate four for 42 in the first innings. In the second innings- Tate was still bowling well and took six for- 101. Sussex won. Haying for Gloucestershire .against Notts at Nottingham, C. Parker took seven wickets for 85 runs. Notts won. Playing for Lancashire against Derbyshire at Chesterfield, R. Tyldesley took eight wickets for 40 runs, and Sibbles took five for 30. Lancashire won. Playing for Leicestershire against Glamorgan at Cardiff, G. Geary took six wickets for 67 runs in tho first innings and seven for 31 in the- scroiid. wliilo Il'.
