CAOSTHALUN-NEW ZEALAND CABLE ASSOCIATION.) (Received 28th August, 12.30 p.m.) LONDON, 27th August. J. B. Hobbs, the Surrey batsman, has declined an offer to appear at the Colliseiun and demonstrate his methods of stroke-making. Interviewed by the "Daily Express," he said : "1 must admit that the terms forced me to consider the offer. I came to the conclusion, however, that my .appearance in a variety turn would belittle a great game, and at the same time I had con : siderable doubts as to how people associated with cricket would regard it, and I felt that I might easily make a fool of myself."
