DOG ON A BUS
CURIOUS CAUSE OF STRIKE^ (UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT.) (AUSTRALIAN-NEW ZEALAND CABLE ASSOCIATION.) LONDON, 27th August. Six hundred drivers and conductors on East Surrey buses have struck because of a lady passenger bringing her dog aboard. The men nad resolved not to carry dogs, owing to the likelihood of disease, and the lady, who is a frequent traveller, was ordered to the top deck. She refused to go.
The conductor was dismissed, and his colleagues have struck, and demand his reinstatement.
