NAVAL VISITORS' GIFT
The Prime Minister was asked by Mr. V. Potter (Eoskill), in the House of Beproseatatives yesterday, whether ho'would seriously consider giving a & for & subsidy on tho sum of £1000 so generously donated for tho purpose of a eot in tho Blind Institute at Auckland by the men of the. American fleet.
The Hon. J. G. Coates stated, in reply, that one appreciated very much the splendid gift made by the Amelican naval visitors. He was sure everyone felt very grateful for the thoughtful donation. The Government had not so far considered the question of contributing £ for £•, but he would be glad to keep it in mind find give it consideration when a suitable opportan ay of bringing it before Cabinet arose.
