The quarterly summoned meeting of Loyal Antipodean Lodge, 1.0.0. F., M.U., was held on Tuesday evening. The following officers presided over a good attendance :—Bros. A. Hunter, N.G.; H. Dormer, 1.P.N.G.; A. V. Cooke, V.G.; A. Wainwright, E.B. ; 0. H. Hioks, Warden; and A. Millions, Guardian. Brd. G. D. Beharrel, Lecture Master, held a special deigree meeting, when eleven brothers -were advanced to the white degree, three were advanced to the blue, and one to the scarlet. Letters of condolences were sent to Bros. R. A. Hosie and E. Sawyer, each having suffered a loss by tha death of his wife. Bro. 'Te Kanru, of Loyal Dannevirke Lodge, was received as a visitor, and Lodge honours were extendod. It was resolved that a framed photograph of Bro. A. Guise be procured and hung in the Lodge, and also that an effort be made to secure a photograph of the late Bro. W. Guise, P.D.G.M., for the lodgeroora. Bro. Wells reported on the activities of the Friendly Societies' Dispensary. The Management Committee was instructed to arrange lectures on the "History of the Manchester Unity : Its Future, and the Emblems of the Order." The legacy of £100 left by the late Bro. F. Buck was paid into the distress fund as directed by the will. A committee was set up to consider the position of members in arrears and endeavour to prevent tho loss of members by secession.
A novelty which combines be-nuty with originality has appeared in London ballrooms. This is tho phosphorescent fan.
