Mr, G. Lawson, of Queensland, who returned by -the Orsova from the Labour Congress at Genera, which he attended as an Australian delegate, said that fromthe point of view of Australian workers, the deliberations at the Conference were of little value. The draft conventions and recommendations which were adopted were in no way in keeping with the conditions existing in Australia, which were much in advance of practically everything proposed. At the same time, from the international standpoint, he thought the Conference would be of value to the workers throughout the world. In England and Ireland, Mr. Lawson sai9, he found industry in a bad way. In Ireland unemployment was rapidly mounting, and - the position ' was ver; serious.
