DEPORTATION THREAT
SEAMEN EXPRESS SYMPATHY.
SYDNEY, 26th 'August. At a trade unionists' mass meeting the British seamen passed a resolution sympathising with Messrs. Walsh and Johannsen in view 'of the threat of deportation, declaring that such action would only strengthen the determination of the men to fight to a finish. Mr. Johannsen, addressing the meeting, said, this was only one particular strike, which may be followed by many others. He concluded by stating that the men had the State Government behind them.
