THE EXPLANATION
SYDNEY, 26th August. In the Legislative' Assembly Mr. Willis acknowledged that both Messrs. Walsh and Johannsen were with him in Parliament House. Ho said he had felt it his duty as a member of the Ministry to ascertain what was at the bottom of the present strike, and he had therefore sent for Mr. Walsh and Mr. Johannsen and had tendered certain views to them as individuals.
