CHRISTCHUECH, 26th August. Entries were much smaller to-day at Addington than last week, but there was an all round easing in values, due to some extent to the heavy purchases of last week.
Store Sheep.—Ewes and hoggets represented the bulk of the entry. There was a slacker demand, and hoggets Were easier by 2s a head, ewes also being down. Wethers were back by about Is. The cold, wet day was responsible for a small attendance of buyers.. Four, six, and eight-tooth three-quarterbred ewes made 39s to 40s 6d, four, six, and eighttooth half bred ewes 41s, good aged ewes 29a to 30s Id, inferior aged ewes 17s 4d to 22s 6d. Crossbred ewe hoggets, 27s 3d to 32s Id. Halfbred wether hoggets 26s 7d to 295. Two-tooth threequarterbred wethers 35s to 35s 3d, six and eight-tooth wethers 37s to 38s 3d, lower conditioned wethers 32s to 36s sd.
_ Fat Sheep.—An average entry, practically all wethers. It was an irregular sale, values on an average being easier by 2s a head on last "freek. Graziers bought lighter sheep for shearing. Extra prime wethers made to 52s Id prime wethers 44s 6d to 48s, medium wethers 40s 6d to 445, light wethers 37s 6d to 40s. Extra prime ewes to 48s 3d, prime ewes 36s 6d to 41s, medium ewes 33s to 365, light ewes 28s' to 32s 6d.
Fat Cattle.—soo were entered, including 70 from the North Island. The market was down on last week by about 20s per head, and there were a few passings. Values were: Extra choice beef to 52s per 1001b, prime 45a 6d to 495, medium 41s to 455, light 35s to 395, rough 273 6d to 335. Extra prime heavy-weight steers made to £26 17s 6d, prime medium-weight steers £18 10s to £21 10s, medium steers £15 5s to £18, light steers £12 10s to £14 10s, rough steers £9 to £11 10s. Extra, prime heifers to £16 7s Bd, primo heifers £11 lo £13 10s, ordinary heifers £8 10s to £10 15s, light, heifers £7 to £8 ss, extra prime cows to £14 12s Gd, prime cows £10 10s to £13, medium £8 10s to £10 ss, light cows £7 to £8 7s 6d, old cows £4 10s to £6 10s.
Store Cattlp. —A fair entry. Anything with condition sold well. Four-year steers made to £10 10s, 3-year to £9 10s Id, 2-year to £6 15s, 18-month heifers to £3, cows £2 to £4.
Dairy Cattle.—Good cows in calf made to £13, others £4 to £6, good heifers £5 10s to £8 10s, others £2 10s to £5.
Fat Pigs.—A Keen sale. Choppers made £3 15s to £7' 15s, baconers £4 15s \o £7 18s 6d (average price per 1b 9£d to lOd), light porkers £2 12s to £3 ss, heavy porkers £3 7s 6d to £3 18s 6d (average price per lb 9d to lOd). Store Pigs.—A medium entry and a bri.sk sale. Weariers. 25s to 295, small stores 35s to 40s, medium 44s to 465, large to 545, sows in pig £6 15s to £8.
