HOKITIKA, 26th August. The West Coast annual golf championship tournament commenced this morning under ideal weather conditions, and with a large entry. In the men's championship the first qualifying round was won by Sime (Westport) with 83. The ladies' first round was won by" Miss Moore (Hokitika), 95. The Dalgleiah Shield was won by Westport with 347, other scores being Grey A 372, Grey B 389, Hokitika 389. The ladies' challenge shield wae won by Greymouth with 411, Westport scoring 430, and Hokitika 440. The men'e medal handicap was won by Loyell (Westport), 86-8-78; the ladies' medal handicap "by Mrs. Thompson (Westport), 105-21-84; the second medal handicap by Park (Westport), 82-7-74; and the ladies' bogey by' Miss Aitken (Nokon), 2 down.
