DE LUXE THEATRE.

"East of Suez" is showing finally tonight at the De Luxe Theatre. It tells a thrilling story of sinister intrigue in the Orient. The evil of China, the social ostracism of those who mate with i Chinese, and whose children are Eurasians, form the background for the plot. Pola Negri, who take 3 the part of Daisy Forbes, has never appeared to greater advantage or been offered the opportunity for greater dramatic acting than in this picture. Outstanding selec-' tions presented by the orchestra, under Mr. L. D. Austin, were "Egyptian Ballet" (Luigine), played as an overture, and "Chinese Wedding Procession" (Hosmer), played as an entr'acte. "THE THUNDERING HERD." "The Thundering Herd," which opens at the De Luxe to-morrow, is a vigorous, mixture of entertainment and instruction, of history and fiction. It has tremendous dramatic value, yet the thrilling story it narrates, the adventures and incidents it unfolds, and the scenes it pictures, are based upon facts that are historically true. The photoplay was adapted from the absorbing novel of th« same name by Zane Grey, and centres around the glamorous and colourful days of 1876. Mr. Grey knows the West hi the early days as do few others, and Lucien Hubbjftrd, who scenarised the story, and William K. Howard who directed it, have been careful to follow the novel down to ita minutest details. Interwoven with the theme of the story, which concerns the long drive that was begun in 76 to the buffalo fields of Wyoming and Montana, is a- virile romance the principals of which are Jack Holt and Lois Wilson. The big Indian attack upon the whites and the exciting stampede of a vast herd of buffalo furnish two of the many dynamic scenes for this epic picture. There will be a special musical programme with this picture by the De Luxe Orchestra, under the direction of Mr. L. D. Austin. Box plans now open at The Bristol, Aitken's Book Store, and the theatre.
