W.E.A. LECTURE
Most people in the Dominion are aware that a lot of money is spent by the Public Works Department, but not so many are aware of the many activities in which that Department enters. The Department covers a wide range of work, and is occupied in carrying out big jobs, sometimes for the Railways Department, sometimes on road work, and of more- recent times has been deeply absorbed in the construction of hydro-electric works in various parts of New Zealand. Most people will be glad to get some idea of tho:vast work undertaken by this, one of the most important Departments: of the State, and on Saturday next, under the auspices of the W.E.A., Mr. Furfcert, tho Engin-eer-in-Chief of tho Public Works Department, will lecturo in the Red Cross Hall, Dixon street, on "Tho Activities of tho Public Works Department."
