WELLINGTON AND WANGANUI WIN
The opening games of the intercollegiate'tournament were played at Lyall Bay on Saturday afternoon, and though the weather was bleak there was any amount, of enthusiasm from some 1500 spectators. The grounds were in good order, but the strong southerly which blew straight across the grouud interfered a good deal with the play. Even so, the games produced football of good standard, and not a little of the pliiy waa of spectacular order. Wins were registered by Wellington College (over Nelson College) and Wanganui Collegiate School (over Christ's College).
