MELBOURNE, 9th August. The V.A.T.C. Meeting wu continued yesterday. Following is the result of the
AUSTRALIAN STEEPLECHASE, of
2100 sots. About four miles. Palbi, 12.7 (Pearce) 1 Silver Heart, 11.7 (Warner) 2 Jupiter, 10.9 (Baker) 3 Seven started. Minterne and Master Fife were at the head of affairs alternatively till well into the last round. Master Fife was leading along tho railway, where Minterne and Silver Heart were first over the last fence, followed by Master Fife, Resembler, and Palbi. The laat named, finishing fast, beat Silver Heart by half a head. Roisel fell. Time, Bmin 2sec.
