The game, which was played in four spells, provided a very eood exhibition, and showed that not alfthe good players are playing, in the senior teams. The Wellington men showed up to better advantage in every respect both as a combination and individually, and fully earned their win of 16 points to 5. Canterbury played with the' wind in the first quarter, but failed to show any superiority, and the teams changed Over with the score 5-3 in Canterbury's favour, a try by Fleming, converted by Rhodes, and a try by Shannon, after Tait had put in a fine run. In the second quarter, Donovan added a try for Wellington, making the score 6-5. The more the game progressed the greater the superiority of the local team, and the third quarter found Wellington having all the best of it, even against the wind. The change over for the final spoil found the scores unaltered, but Wellington then proceeded to add on the points. Wineera, who was playing in brilliant fashion, gained the first try,' getting over between the posts, but the kick nit the bar. 9-5. Then Mason fielded a penalty kick well upfield, and dropped a fine goal. 13-5. From the kick-off Parker broke away, and dribbled right downfield, finally sorossing in the corner, and making the final score 16 to 5 in Wellington's favour. Mr. J. Wilson was the referee.
