After the cremation at Golders Green, the ashes were conveyed to Wellington Barracks, where they lay in State. The public were admitted until 9 o'clock. There was a long queue of all classes, including "Old Contemptibles," business men, workmen, women, and children. Inside the chapel four Guardsmen, with arms reversed, stood motionless at the corners of the bier. Marshal .Toffre arrived at Victoria Station and attended the service in the Abbey, and twenty-five poihis in the familiar greyblue uniform and steel helmets, will march in to-day's procession.
