SHEEP AND CATTLE ENGULFED
RAETIHI, 25th May.— FJooda have • not affected Raetihi, but tho. back country suffered considerably. Hundreds of sheep and cattle.have been engulfed in slips, miles of fences are dowu, bridges have gone, and the loads have slipped away for chains. Tho telephone lines are down, and some districts are isolated, . Mails from Raetihi are being carried by pack horses to tha country offices.
