GENEVA, 25th May.
The International Labour Conference is now debating the Workmen's Compensation Convention. New South Wales considers that this should be applicable to all undertakings, excluding those earning over £525, policemen and others already provided for. Other States.only differ as to details, and all are agreed that the convention should deal with accidents happening in the course of employment. Tasmania alone does not agree to the inclusion of occupational disease. New South Wales adheres to its own Compensation Act. To-day the conference considered the general question of ratifications. It was announced that of 800 conventions adopted since the Labour Office was formed, only 150 had been ratified.
