BOARD OP GOVERNORS MEET.
A meeting of the Technical' College Board of Governors was held last even"mg, Mr. W. H. Bennett presiding. The secretary reported that (lie following representatives had been appointed to the Commercial Advisory Committee: —New Zealand Society of Accountants, Mr. D. Johnston; Shipping Officers' Guild, Mr. A. D. Bayfeild; New Zealand Bank Officers' Guild, Mr. T. G. A. Harle; Insurance Officers' Guild. Mr. H. P. Mourant.
The Director (Mr. J. H. Howell) reported that a consignment of shelter trees (C. Lawsoniana and Firms radiata) had been presented by the State Forest Service for planting on the college site. In his monthly report he stated that the organisation of the Students' Association had been improved, with a consequent promise of much greater activity in the coming season. As the Apprenticeship Committee had consented to act as Advisory Committee for the painting and decorative class, applications had been invited for the position of instructor to the class. Owing to increased enrolment it had been found necessary to start additional classes in advanced English, aVithemetic, typewriting, and millinery. •The report was adopted.
