Late news of his interesting tour of the world is given in the April number of the "British Chess Magazine." According to advices from Kenya, he arrived there from South Africa, .via Mombasa, and gave two simultaneous performances at the City Club, Nairobi. On 29th January he won 22 games and drew one, and on 3rd February his tally was 21 wins, 4 draws (to Mr. A. G. S. Palmer and three ladies), and one loss (to Mr. Katzler). On 31st January he gave a blindfold exhibition against six Indian players at the Railway Indian Institute. Mr. Kostich won five games and lost one, through a misunderstanding with • the teller who called the moves to him. According to the "East African Standard," Mr. Kostich, on Bth February, played an "Equatorial" game of chess with- the Mr. Palmer referred to above, at a spot about 16 miles from Mount Kenya. Mr. Kostich sat on the northern side of the line, and Mr. Palmer on the southern side, while the board was exactly on the Equator! The former ("north") won this unique game.
