HARRIERS
OLYMPIC CLUB,
There was a large assembly of members of the Olympic Harrier Club at the residence of Mr. Lord, Berhampore, on Saturday, when one of the most important runs of the season, the Philp Memorial, was held. Mr.. Philp was one of the founders of the Olympic Club, and held the position of vice-president, and later, president. Twenty-two starters completed the somewhat heavy three-mile course. Leaving Luxford street, the course was laid down to Adelaide road up to Palm grove, across the hill to Stanley street past Emerson street Eeserve, across the golf links, over by the Chinamen' 3 gardens to the parade, and then home to Luxford street. Thercoveted trophy was won by Blair (Smiu), 22min Bsec, who was 50 yards ahead of Moffitt (smin 15 sec). 22min 50sec, who beat A. M. Williams (smin 45sec), 23rairi SOsec. The fastest time was put up by Wilson (18min 50sec), Blair's performance was. s. remarkably fine one. He has just turned 17 years of age. and this is his first season at harrier work. He must be heartily congratulated.,
