ART OF GALLI-CURCI.

One's imagination leaps ahead of mere words as an adequate expression of the art of Galli-Curci. Her voice is one of matchless beauty, wonderfully pure amazingly flexible, and of even quality throughout its entire compass—a voice that haunts the memory. To the majority, Galli-Curci is a name that is synonymous with the highest in vocal art, and it is not generally known that she is an accomplished pianist, a fluent linguist, an authority on Italian literature, and a- charming conversationalist, withal, she is most modest and unassuming, and does not believe in the sincerity of >the so-sailed "artistic temperament." bhe is a sane, cultured, human person, a serious artist, first and last. With all her talents she possesses also a winning personality, an old-world grace, and elusive femininity that combine to make her altogether exceptional. Galli-Curci is now in the biggest season of her career. Ine public are reminded that the preferential plans for the two concerts to be given at the Town HaR on 2nd and 4th July will be opened at The Bristol next Wednesday, and as there have been a good many orders received frpm all parts I of the district, and even as far afield- as Chnstchurch, Blenheim," and Nelson it looks as though there will be an eager demand. People resident outsido Wellington are asked to communicate at once with the box office (enclosing cheques) so that they will not be left lamenting at the end of the week. The Wellington season cannot possibly be extended as Ualli-Curci, who leaves for America on •7tn July, is booked up ten years ahead on the other side of the world, and is not likely to visit New Zealand for mam a year, if ever. •
