r&' ■severe 7' rainstorm swept Taranaki early, this morning. Rivers are flooded and roads, aro under water. Small slips )ia.vc occurred, "" but no serious damage has,been done. The load from New Plymouth to To Kuiti is impassable, but motor services will be maintained to-mor-xow. Anxiety is felt for Uruti Valley, where a township is in danger of being flooded. Great volumes of water fell from the hillsides and the river rose three feet in as many .hours, the water lapping the pilesof the post office, and all the roads are .flooded. Late this afternoon the rain ceased, and the waters are now falling.., ...
