AUSTRALIAN LIGHTHOUSE SHIPS.
• A new lighthouse steamer, the Cape Leeuwin, underwent her official trials in bydney recently. This vessel was built at Cockatoo Dockyard, and was launched on 11th December last, She is ■intended for Ike-"Commonwealth Light-' house Service, 1 and will" be employed on the Western Australian coast. A sistersuip to the Cape Leeuwin is still on the stocks. Tho Cape Leeuwin wiU replace' the .Kyogle, which was acquired from the North Coast S.N. Co. The latter vessel will be transferred from the Western Australia to the Queensland service. The second of the new lighthouse ships will be used on the Queensland coast, then the Kyogle will be Ve.moyed to the far north coast of' Australia.
