LIZARD-SKIN BAGS

A minor fashion, which nevertheless enjoys quite a following among the well-to-do, is that of carrying a handbag and wearing shoes made from the skin of some reptile. Last year snake and crocodile skins were the favourite materials from which these articles were made and again this year crocodile handbags are being awarded a conspicuous place in shop windows. The coming season, however, will bring with it a novelty i, the shape of ladies' bags made of lizard skin As the scales are flecked .white and brown, the effect is extremely charming, and the bags are particularly suitable for fine weather use. Not only shoes, but even caps to match, are beine made m lizard. The vogue has of course, created a demand' for many cheaper objects in "imitation" lizard and crocodile skins, but the difference between the genuine article and the skiltully stamped leather is apparent
