MELBOURNE "SUN"
.WITHDRAWAL EXPLAINED
PREJUDICE AGAINST SYDNEY.
(UNITED FRISS ASSOCIATION COPYRIGHT.) (Received 22nd May, 11 a.m.)
SYDNEY, This Day.
Speaking at the annual meeting of the "Sun" Newspapers, Ltd., the chairman explained the reasons for the company's recent withdrawal from Melbourne. There had been a very strong prejudice against the "Sun" in Melbourne, on the grounds that it was a Sydney institution. The prejudice even went so far as attempts at job control. However, arrangements had been made by which the company, expected to receive back the full amount of the money invested,' and perhaps a little more.
