(ACS TRAM AN-JiSIV ZEALAND CABLI ASSOCIATION^ HOME, 21st May.

An important announcement regarding the proposed Guarantee Pact was made by Signor Mussolini in a debate on foreign affairs in the Senate. He said there could be no question of a triple pact only, but there must be' at least a Five-Power Pact, which with other possible pacts should be under the aegis of the League of Nations Council. Signor Mussolini expressed the opinion that not only the frontier of the Rhine, but that of Brennero, should be guaranteed. He_ strongly opposed an Austro-German union, because that would mean that Germany would control the most powerful bloc in Central Europe.
