WEATHER FORECAST
The following forecast was issued at 9 a.m. to-day for the subsequent 21 hours :— Winds—Northerly winds, strong to gale, changing to southarlies soon in the North Island; southerly winds, increasing strong to gale, in the South. Barometer—Fall further in the North but rise everywhere soon. "Seas-Very heavy on all the eastern coast; heavy elsewhere. Tides—Good on the east coast; moderate elsewhere. Warning signals for northerly gales are exhibited at Cape Maria Van Diemcn and Tiritirl; and for southerly at Castlepoint, Cape Campbell, Stephen Island, Farewell Spit, Cape Foulwind, and Nugget Point. Weather-Stormy weather, with rain generally, and snow in the high country in the South; heavy rain, with flooded rivers, in many parts of the North Island and northern and east coast districts of the South Island; much colder soon.
