MAGISTRATE'S COURT.
Mr. C. R. Orr Walker, S.M., preS $ ,afc ,the -Magistrate's Court to-day. Michael M'Guirk, a fourth-offender for drunkenness, was fined £3, in default seven days' imprisonment. . A remand to 27th May was granted m the case of Michael 'John Crowley, who was charged with the theft of a woollen overcoat valued at £3 10«. Bail was fixed at £50.
John Henderson was sentenced to one month s imprisonment on the charge of the theft of two watches valued at £2 12s 6d.
On a charge of using an unregistered motor vehicle, Robert Milne Stewart was fined £3.
Olga Poole was fined £2 for opening a shop on a Sunday for the purpose of trading. For being on licensed premises after hours, Thomas Byron and Charles Cole were each fined £1, and Richard Prescott £2. For giving a wrong address. Byron -was fined £3.
Failure to stamp a receipt cost James J Niven and Co., Ltd., ss. For failing to slacken speed at railway crossings, Herbert Wilson and Roland Edward Bradley were each fined £5.
