EMPIRE THEATRE, ISLAND BAY.
Readers of Alexandra Dumas' immortal work will love to have their memories refreshed at the Empire Theatre, Island Bay, where for to-night only the screen version of "Monte Cristo" will be shown. Grandparents, fathers, mothers, and children alike are stirred at the mere mention of that great story. The picture, based on the work, brings the details so vividly to the mind's eye, the characters live again' in a manner so delightful and satisfying, that all who possibly can should indulge for this one night, and spend a couple of hours with Edmund Dantes, Mercedes Caderousse, de Villefort, Fernaud, and Abbe Faria. The matinee advertised for Saturday afternoon will claim the children's attention.
