GENEVA, 19th May. Thews are 139 delegates,- representing forty-two countries, attending the International Labour Conference. Dr. Benes was elected president. He said that Labour' organisations were preparing for moral disarmament, which -was essential for -world peace. He advocated, us an ideal, world-wide workers' compensation, to provide for maintenance in the event of accident, incapacity, unemployment, maternity, or old age. but recognised that the large expenditure involved demanded an immediate and more modest programme.
