STAMP DUTY CASE
A SOLICITOR'S EVIDENCE.

. CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. rho hearing was continued this morning of the stamp duty caso in Which the defendants are Frederick Wilding, X C, and Leslie jVrthur Dougall, well-known solicitors.
Evidence was given by John H. Upham, solicitor, that on one occasion ho .told Dougall the latter could not put through a transfer from Bowron Bros to Campbell direct. When informed later this had been done, witness was annoyed. Possibly witness said: "You havo put' the fat in the fire."
The case is proceeding.
