RETURNED SOLDIERS' HOSTEL'

. The annual meeting of the Returned Soldiers' Hostel, Wellington Terrace was held on Tuesday, Mr.W. J. Pascoe presiding.

Tlio election of the board for the ensuing year resulted'as follows:—President, Mrs. Moore; secretary, Mrs. Boden; treasv/rer, Mr. T. R. Lear; members, Mesdames Radcliffe, Preston Frost, Urwin, Misses Bright, M'Rodger', and Kane. The chairman stated that a loss had been shown on the work of the last fourteen months, but taking into consideration that there had been several alterations and improvements to the buildings the figures were entirely satisfactory. In the past year 6298 beds were supplied, showing a decrease of 1180, and meals supplied a falling off of 3786 for tho year.
