APRIL TRANSACTIONS.

Tho Hon. W. Nosworthy, Minister in charge of the Public Trust Office, issued th^ following statement yesterday :— Tiie new loans paid during the month of April amounted .to £110,240—private mortgagors £79.140 and local bodies £31,100.

New loans; were granted amounting to £392,170—private mortgagors £135,----400 and local bodies £256,770. Total loans granted but not yet paid amount to £900,495, and amounts offered being less than the full loans applied for amount to £47,140—a grand total of £947,635. Further applications for loans now awaiting consideration amount to £634,-

The total of the loans-paid out during the financial year ended 31st March, 1925, was £2,4sß,7so—private mortgagors £1,687,693 and local bodies £771,057.

New estates of a value of £300,513 were reported for administration during the month. -

The total value of the new estates reported for administration during the financial year ended 31st March, 1925, was £4,621,869, an increase of £840,----714 over the value of the estates reported during the previous year. Estates and funds now" under administration have a total value of £35,570,642, showing a net increase over the values on 31st March, 1924, of £3,165.918. A hii-ther 424 wills of living testators were deposited for sate custody during Die month, and tho number of wills so held is uuw fM,455. ■
